Nutrition Support
Pleasant View’s dietitian manages the food services and ensures dietary issues of residents are dealt with. This can include providing appropriate textures, special eating utensils, specialized foods, and supplements if dietary intake is compromised. They assist with assessing for swallowing problems. They are responsible to make sure quality and amount of food and snacks is maintained. Residents’ Council is a forum for residents to dialogue regularly with the dietitian about the menu, different options to try, etc.
The cooks and dietary staff work hard to present quality meal service, and respond to feedback from residents regarding the success of specific menu items, new recipes, etc. The menu is a 5 week menu that changes for the summer months and then for winter.
